Favre in Purple?

I would first like to state that I HATE the Packers, and maybe their fans even more.  That being said, as a life long Vikings fan I would LOVE if Favre became a Viking, and here is why.  Even though I hate the Packers, I have always respected Favre.  If you are a true fan of football there is no way that you couldn't respect him.  Now that Goodell has reinstated him that means he is not going to take the Packers "marketing deal".  The Packers now have a couple of uncomfortable decisions to make, which makes me happy.  They will either make him sit and backup Aaron Rodgers, which will make the organization look bad, or they trade him to their mortal enemy the Vikings.  How awesome would it be to see that.  All the Cheeseheads favorite player playing for their most hated rival.  That would have been like Cris Carter going to the Packers.

As far as what this will do for the Vikes I think this would make them a better team.  We all know T-Jack isn't that great of a QB.  Give him a few years to learn under Favre and he could be a serviceable NFL QB.  He is still young, so it won't kil him to sit a couple of years.  This would also help John David Booty's develpment as well.

I just absolutely love what is happening to the Packers right now.  It's Great!

Go KU

Since all that had to happen was either UNC or UCLA get into the finals, I would have been in the money, but since that didn't happen and my brackets are now broken, ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!  That means my buddy wins in Vegas.

My Bracket... Not Busted Yet!!

I still have all of my elite 8 teams left.  Picked Duke to lose to WV.  My Midwest bracket looks like crap, but at least I had Wisconson facing Kansas with Kansas winning to go to the final 4.  UCLA almost put a hurting on me.  I have them losing to UNC in the finals.  So now I can exhale, relax and get ready for my.....

Fantasy Baseball auction on Sunday!!  Suck that Grandy broke his finger, I have him at $8.  Now I won't be able to pick up a AAA OF prospect, as I won't have Grandy's stats for 10 days.  Saw that David Price has some soreness in his pitching elbow.  No was Tampa brings him up this year, so I won't waste a pick on him.  I don't really see any other prospects worth taking, so I guess I will start the year with a full squad and only need to pick up a replacement for Grandy.   I have $229 to spend on 17 players, so I should be able to target some big time free agent pitchers and Cabrera (it's an AL only draft).

So, after this next weekend I hope to have all my final 4 teams left in my bracket and a dominating FBB team for the 08 season!

Observation's of fans

Have you noticed that it seems the more success a team has, the sports IQ of there fan base goes down.  For whatever reason, championships seem to cloud judgements.  Yes, my favorite teams (and my beloved Minnesota teams) are not what you would call perenial title contenders, but I would like to think if they were that my sport IQ would not go down.  Exampe:

On a recent thread some Cowboys fan said that since I am an Eagles/Cubs fan, I have no right to say anything and too shut my mouth since the teams I cheer for haven't won anything in 100 years.  Well, the Eagles did win the championship in 1960, but I wouldn't expect a Cowboys fan to know that.  I hate the Cowboys, Yankees, Braves etc.  but if they make a good move or do something good, I give them props.  To be a truly intelligent sports fan and have a high sports IQ, that is the way it needs too be.  There are so many idiots out there that think just because they like a team that was good when they started liking them that they know everything and those of us TRUE fans that root for out teams through thick and thin need to sit on the sidelines and wait.  Morons.  Talk to me when you have a clue.
